Small triumphs

In the interest of trying to keep my blog updated, I'll try to post my little triumphs as well as the big ones.
My latest small triumph:
Yesterday, I went to leave for work. Tried to fire up my car, but no dice. It wouldn't even make a sound like it was trying to start. I had the starter replaced a couple years ago, so I was pretty sure that wasn't the problem. But the car battery had a lot of corrosion around the connectors, so I assumed the battery finally died. The car was sluggish starting for 2 days, so I planned to get it looked at on my weekend, but it didn't last that long. The battery was the one that came with my 2000 Sentra, so I figured replacing it wouldn't be a ridiculous solution.

Side note: I was very happy and fortunate that, if the car HAD to die, it died in my garage and not on the Interstate on the 9-hour trips to or from Omaha a couple weeks ago. I said a prayer thanking God for looking out for me!

I bought a new car battery on the way to work. Brian took out the old one while I was working, and after work, Dad showed me how to put in the new one -- but he did most of the work. Now I know how to do it for the future, though.
After the new one was attached, the car fired right up.
I was pretty proud of figuring out the mechanical diagnosis. Girl power :)
