Another gem heard on the police scanner tonight: A "possible structure fire" in an apartment was luckily nothing more than someone burning dinner while asleep on the couch with the TV on.
How you could sleep through the smell that was strong enough to scare the neighbors while firefighters and police are banging on your door, preparing to break it down, is beyond my comprehension.
