Married life, so far

I have been married for one week now. Can hardly believe it!
Just very glad the planning is over. And we had a small wedding by most standards! Now I'm tackling the thank you cards ...

The ceremony and reception were beautiful. No problems there! (Well, that I know about anyway. I had a crack team of helpers/friends/family members who would've taken care of issues without letting me worry if there was a problem.)
Everyone says there's at least one thing that goes wrong at every wedding. The big problem was that the groom and I were violently ill the week of the wedding! But, thankfully, we pulled it together for Sunday and felt great! Nothing really appeared to go wrong on the actual wedding day except that it was COLD! It was warm the days before and the days after, but was windy and in the 40s for our wedding in a heatless, rustic chapel.
But my groom and my family kept me warm, so all was well on my end.

The honeymoon was great! We had a four-star hotel room in Las Vegas and ran around from one end of the strip to the other for four days. Neither of us had been there before, so we had lots we wanted to see. Oh yeah, and make some quiet time for each other, too!
We were surprised upon arrival by a gift from friend Jodi, who ordered champagne via room service for us! So, while enjoying our view of Vegas' Eiffel Tower and hot air balloon and the Bellagio's dancing fountains, we enjoyed that gift very much!

While there we also: (the short version)
saw Blue Man Group
took a gondola ride at the Venetian
dined at the ritzy Eiffel Tower Restaurant
saw many Bellagio fountain shows
went up the Eiffel Tower
went up the Stratosphere Tower
went downtown to the Fremont Street Experience
Walked through most of the hotel/casinos, taking in the various free shows and exhibits
Took a couple hundred photos, I think.
Saw a few wedding parties and one couple quickly duck into the wedding chapel at the Mirage. (Part of me wanted to wait around to see if they went through with it!)

And we played a few penny slots, because those were the only chairs available to sit on in Las Vegas. I'm not kidding! I think I saw one bench the whole time. The only seats available were in front of casino games, and they frown upon pulling up a seat at a poker game just to catch your breath and rest your feet.
So if you like to sit occasionally, be sure to bring a few extra dollars to slowly use in the slots. Otherwise, just sit down when you get home!

So besides, some sore feet, we had a fantastic time!

Now, back to downloading and uploading the oodles of photos taken during the past week. That's a task I actually enjoy!
