Gibberish or first words?

It's been fun hearing Luke babble lately. His favorite saying this week has been "ba-ba-ba-ba" over and over.

But yesterday, the three of us were in the living room and our cat, Gabby, walked by and Luke said "Ab-ba!" He said it twice.

I always say "Hi, Gabby" when the cat comes into the room where Luke and I are. He always smiles whenever he sees either cat, but Gabby is the only cat who comes near him regularly.

Is his first word really going to be the cat's name? It might have been a fluke. But I'll be listening and watching carefully to be sure...
